Once completed, the future Pohang will have a length of 122 metres, a beam of 14 metres, a displacement of 2,800 tonnes, and a combined diesel-electric or gas (CODLOG) propulsion arrangement consisting of a Rolls-Royce MT30 gas turbine, four MTU 12V4000 diesel engines, and two Leonardo electric motors. Armament will include a 127-millimetre naval gun, a 20-millimetre Phalanx close-in weapon system, anti-ship missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and torpedoes.
