Saint Petersburg-based shipyard Severnaya Verf has laid the keels of two future Project 22350M corvettes for the Russian Navy.

The virtual keel-laying ceremony, with President Vladimir Putin as guest of honour, was held on Monday, July 20, to mark the official start of construction of the future corvettes Admiral Yumashev and Admiral Spiridonov.

Unlike earlier Project 22350 ships, the Project 22350M corvettes will belong to a new sub-class with greater displacement, dimensions, and weapons capacities.
