Finnish company Patria has completed a mid-life upgrade and overhaul of a 1990s-built Hamina-class missile boat operated by the Finnish Navy.

The vessel is the second Hamina-class boat to have completed undergoing upgrades at Patria's facilities under a €170 million (US$208 million) contract awarded by the Finnish Defence Forces in 2018. The upgrade encompasses the installation of more modern weapons, sensors, and communication systems as well as the incorporation of a new system that will assist the crew during anti-submarine warfare training exercises.

The two remaining Hamina-class boats are currently undergoing their own upgrades and are scheduled to rejoin the fleet in 2021.
