UMS Moattama, the first landing platform dock (LPD) to sail under the flag of Myanmar, has been commissioned into service with the country's navy.

The vessel was built by South Korea's Daesun Shipbuilding and Engineering as a modified variant of the Makassar-class LPD developed by Daesun and Indonesia's PAL.

Named after a town in Myanmar's Mon State, Moattama has a length of 122 metres, a beam of 22 metres, a draught of 4.9 metres, and a maximum speed of 16 knots. It can accommodate up to 40 ground vehicles, five helicopters, a crew of 126, and 218 additional troops.
