The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has placed an order for four rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) in a series with BAE Systems just as the final unit of an earlier £13.5 million (US$17.78 million) order for 60 RIBs was delivered.

The RIBs will be used to transport small boarding teams that will deploy from Royal Navy ships in the open sea.

Each RIB is capable of speeds of up to 38 knots.
