Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation (BHIC) has begun construction of the first two of a planned four littoral mission ships (LMS) for the Royal Malaysian Navy.
A double ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 23, to mark the keel-laying and the steel-cutting of LMS1 and LMS2, respectively.
The vessels are currently being built at the shipyards of Wuchang Shipbuilding Industrial Group (WSIG) in Shuangliu, China.
LMS3 and LMS4 will be constructed by BHIC associate company Boustead Naval Shipyard in Malaysia.
