Fincantieri Marinette Marine (FMM) has laid the keel of the future US Navy littoral combat ship (LCS) USS Cleveland.

The vessel will be the fourth US Navy ship to honour the city of Cleveland, Ohio, as well as the sixteenth and final Freedom-class LCS that FMM will deliver to the navy.

Like its Freedom-class sisters, the future Cleveland will have a length of 388 feet (118 metres), a beam of 58 feet (18 metres), a draught of 14 feet (4.3 metres), and a speed of 40 knots.
