The German Navy recently commissioned the frigate Nordrhein-Westfalen into service.
The 149-metre vessel is the second of a planned four F125 or Baden-Württemberg-class frigates being built for the navy by the ARGE 125 joint venture of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) and Lürssen.
Like its sisters, Nordrhein-Westfalen will be equipped for anti-surface and anti-air warfare missions. It will also have an embarked anti-submarine warfare helicopter.
