Fassmer design selected for future Ecuadorian Navy combat vessels
Published on

Ecuador shipbuilder Astinave has selected a warship design developed by Germany's Fassmer to be utilised on a new class of multi-purpose combat vessels for the Ecuadorian Navy.

The vessels will be used for maritime security patrols, search and rescue (SAR), fisheries and environmental protection, limited cargo transport, and humanitarian and disaster relief (HADR).

Each vessel will also have a helicopter deck and stern-mounted launch equipment for two small interceptor boats.
