Alexandria Shipyard in Egypt has begun conducting sea trials of a new Gowind-class corvette slated for the Egyptian Navy.

The future ENS Luxor is the final one of four Gowind-class ships ordered by the Egyptian Navy. It is also the third ship in the class to be built locally in Egypt, as class lead ship ENS El Fateh was built in France by defence firm the Naval Group.

Once completed, the future Luxor will have accommodations for 55 crewmembers and armament consisting of a 76-millimetre naval gun, two autocannons, torpedoes, surface-to-air missiles, and anti-ship missiles.
