Damen Shipyards Group handed over the newbuild frigate ARM Reformador to the Mexican Navy on Monday, February 10.
The POLA (Patrulla oceánica de largo alcance; "long range ocean patrol") class frigate was constructed by the team of Damen and Mexican shipbuilder Astimar. It will be used for protection of Mexican territorial waters, law enforcement, long-range search and rescue (SAR), and humanitarian assistance.
The 107-metre Reformador is a modified variant of Damen's 105-metre Sigma-class frigate.
