Construction starts on Russian Navy’s fifth Project 20385 corvette

Russia's Amur Shipyard has laid the keel of a new Project 20385 guided missile corvette, marking the official start of the ship's construction.

The future Bystriy ("Fast") will be the fifth to corvette to be built under the Project 20385 series, also known as the Gremyashchiy class. It will have a length of 106 metres and two diesel engines that will deliver a speed of 27 knots.

The corvette will be assigned to the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet following commissioning.
