Bidding for construction of Brazil’s future corvettes to end in March

The Brazilian Navy is set to announce in March the winner of the US$1.6 billion tender to design and build the country's newest Tamandaré-class corvettes.

The four bidding consortia are reported to have been further refining their submitted designs in time for final negotiations with the Ministry of Defence to be held this month.

Four vessels of the winning corvette design are to be built and are scheduled to be delivered during the 2021-2025 timeframe.
