The Argentine Navy took delivery of its newest offshore patrol vessel (OPV) on Wednesday, April 13.

The future ARA Bartolome Cordero is the final one of four Kership-class OPVs ordered by Argentina from French shipbuilder the Naval Group.

The vessel measures 87 metres long and is armed with a 30-millimetre naval gun. Missions will include maritime border security and fisheries enforcement patrols.

An ice-capable hull will enable the OPV to operate in Antarctic waters.
