The Russian Navy has taken delivery of a new ice-capable fleet support ship from local builder Severnaya Verf.

Vsevolod Bobrov is the second Project 23120 vessel to be built for the navy. In addition to providing logistical support for deployed naval task groups, the vessel will also be equipped for cargo transport, towing, hydrographic surveys, and repair of vessels in distress at sea.

The DP-equipped Vsevolod Bobrov also possesses the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping's ice class Arc4 notation, indicating its ability to sail through surface ice of 0.6 metres in thickness.
