First steel cut for future Ecuadorian Navy logistics support ship

Ecuadorian state-owned shipbuilder Astinave has cut the first steel for a new logistics support and disaster relief vessel ordered by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Defence.

The 80-metre vessel, tentatively named Project Alpha-2021, has an estimated cost of US$42 million.

Completion and delivery to the Ecuadorian Navy are expected in 2021.
