JFD to build submarine rescue vehicles for Chinese firm

JFD has been awarded a multi-million pound contract for the design and construction of submarine rescue equipment for China Shipbuilding and Offshore International.

JFD will also provide the customer with newbuild deep search and rescue vehicles under the contract.

Each rescue vehicle will have a length of 10.7 metres, a beam of 3.2 metres, an operating depth of 500 metres, an endurance of 12 hours, and space for a crew of three and up to 16 passengers.
