Turkey's Uzmar Shipyard has launched a new oil spill recovery vessel ordered by Kuwait Oil Company.
The Robert Allan Ltd-designed KOC Al Zour will also be capable of towing, firefighting, re-supply, search and rescue (SAR), and other related duties in the area around state of Kuwait and international waters.
Once completed, the LR-classed vessel will have an LOA of 60 metres, a beam of 14 metres, a DP system, space for up to 20 people, and two Yanmar 1,620kW main engines that will deliver a speed of 13 knots and a bollard pull of 30 tonnes.
KOC Al Zour is expected to begin operations with its new owners in early 2021.
