Turkish operator Yalova Pilotaj has taken delivery of a new harbour tug from local builder Bogazici Shipyard.

Designed by Istanbul-based V Denge Technology to ABS class rules, Yalova 4 has a length of 24 metres, a beam of nine metres, and a maximum draught of 3.5 metres. Two Caterpillar 3512C 1,500kW engines drive Schottel controllable-pitch propellers to deliver a speed of 13 knots and a bollard pull greater than 50 tonnes.

The tug is crewed by six personnel, who are housed in two double cabins and two single cabins.

Yalova 4 is also equipped to perform firefighting duties thanks to a Fifi1 setup consisting of a pump and two foam/water monitors.
