A new tug ordered by Ports Authority Tonga was inaugurated into service on Wednesday, May 22.

Named Olovaha, the tug was purchased from Australia for 2.1 million pa'anga (US$910,000).

The vessel has a length of 23 metres, a beam of eight metres, a crew of six, and firefighting capability. It will supplement the port authority's current tug, Hifofua, which has been operating for more than 20 years.
