Norwegian Ro-Pax evacuated following engine room fire

A fire broke out in the engine room of a Ro-Pax operated by Oslo-based Color Line on the morning of Thursday, May 16.

Bohus was moored in Sandefjord when the blaze erupted just before 06:00 local time.

Firefighting teams and police units arrived on scene to render assistance and managed to evacuate all 31 of the vessel's occupants. No injuries have been reported.

Local authorities at the scene declared the fire under control at 06:20.

Color Line has not disclosed details on the extent of the damage suffered by Bohus but has announced that the vessel's upcoming scheduled trips would be canceled for the time being.

The fire reportedly originated in one of the auxiliary engines.
