Spain's Zamakona Yards has laid the keel for a new tug ordered by the country's Salvamento Maritimo maritime search and rescue (SAR) agency.

The yet unnamed vessel is scheduled for launch in February 2023 and for delivery in October of the same year.

Upon completion, the tug will have a length of 82.35 metres, a beam of 18 metres, a bollard pull of approximately 200 tonnes, a DP2 system, and accommodations for 16 crewmembers and 26 other personnel. Secondary missions will include SAR, firefighting, and pollution response.
