T. Mariotti and San Giorgio del Porto to build new rail ferry for RFI

Italian rail transport company Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) has placed an order for a new rail ferry with the partnership established by shipbuilders T. Mariotti and San Giorgio del Porto.

The 147- by 19-metre vessel, which will operate in the Strait of Messina, will also be able to transport passengers and wheeled vehicles.

Delivery of the ferry is scheduled for 2020.
