Stena Line to close Trelleborg-Sassnitz route
Published on

Stena Line has confirmed that it will discontinue sailings along the ferry route between Trelleborg in Sweden and Sassnitz in Germany until further notice.

Due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and following travel restrictions in Europe, Stena Line said that it has experienced a significant decline in travel bookings and freight volumes, compelling it to cut costs while securing the vital supply lines of essential goods across Europe.

The company estimates that passenger figures will not recover until well into 2021.

In the meantime, the ferry Sassnitz is laid up in Port of Mukran, Sassnitz, until further notice.
