Shogun Ships’ newest Ro-Pax formally enters service

Philippine operator Shogun Ships inaugurated its newest Ro-Pax ferry into service in a ceremony in Manila on Saturday, August 17.

Built by local shipyard Josefa Slipways, Isla Simara has an LOA of 72 metres, a beam of 16 metres, and capacity for 468 passengers and up to 16 vehicles.

The newbuild is scheduled to sail on its maiden voyage within the week by serving Shogun's 28-kilometre ferry route between the provinces of Sorsogon and Northern Samar.
