Poland's Remontowa Shipbuilding delivered a new diesel-electric hybrid Ro-Pax ferry to Norwegian operator Norled on Wednesday, June 24.

The DNV GL-classed double-ended vessel, which has been named Festøya after a city in western Norway, is the first in a series of four ordered by Norled. All four ferries will eventually serve the company's Festøya-Solavågen and Mannheller-Fodnes routes.

Festøya has an LOA of 114.4 metres, a beam of 17.7 metres, a deadweight of 590 tonnes, and capacity for 299 passengers and crew as well as 120 cars.

Design work was carried out jointly by Remontowa and LMG Marin.
