Danish naval architecture firm OSK-ShipTech has provided the concept design for four LNG-ready Ro-Pax ferries to be built at China's Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI).

Being built for MSC Group and Onorato Armatori, the 2,500-passenger ferries will feature 536 cabins and have 3,765 lane metres for freight.

Measuring 229.5 metres by 32 metres, the RINA-classed vessels have a service speed of 23.5 knots.

Italian operator GNV (a subsidiary of MSC Group) will take two ferries, and the remaining two will be delivered to Onorato Armatori.

The contract includes an option for four additional ferries of the same type.

The first ferry is scheduled for delivery to GNV in 2021.
