Norwegian shipbuilder Eqva (formerly the Havyard Group) has entered into an agreement to divest its Havyard Leirvik yard in Norway's Vestland county.

Even Matre Ellingsen, chairman of the board of Eqva, said the sale of Havyard Leirvik will free up resources, both human and financial, enabling a concentrated focus on further development of Eqva's current industrial portfolio.

The transaction is based on a share sale, where Eqva is selling its shares in Havyard Leirvik Holding, where the subsidiaries Havyard Leirvik and Havyard Leirvik Eiendom are included. The transaction is settled by NOK30 million (US$2.76 million) in cash.

The Havyard Leirvik yard will be sold to a Turkish shipbuilder.
