Japanese shipping company Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has unveiled the name of its new business unit formed from the integration of its two wholly-owned ferry and coastal Ro-Ro vessel operating companies, MOL Ferry and Ferry Sunflower.

The new company will be named MOL Sunflower and will begin operations as a separate entity on October 1, 2023. The company will have six regular routes and a fleet of 15 vessels.

MOL claims the merged entity will be Japan's largest ferry and coastal Ro-Ro vessel company.
