Lite Ferries to add two new vessels to fleet in 2019

Philippine operator Lite Ferries is set to add two newbuild Ro-Paxes to its fleet in 2019.

The first vessel will have capacity for 500 passengers and 23 vehicles while the second vessel will have capacity for 400 passengers and 17 vehicles.

The total acquisition cost of the two vessels is approximately US$20 million, Lite Ferries president and chief executive officer Lucio Lim Jr. confirmed.

The company had earlier indicated that the Ro-Paxes are both IACS-classed and are currently being constructed in China but had given no other details about the builder.
