Irish Ferries will introduce a second Ro-Pax vessel on its Dover to Calais route in the first week of December 2021, doubling the current capacity on the route.

The vessel that will be added to the route is Isle of Innisfree, which was built in 1992 by Boelwerf Shipyard in Belgium. The ferry has capacity for 1,600 passengers and 83 lorries or 600 cars.

Irish Ferries Managing Director Andrew Sheen said the introduction of Isle of Innisfree to the Dover-Calais route will mean departures can occur every two and half hours rather than the current five hours between sailings.
