Indian shipyard Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) has started construction of a new Ro-Pax ferry ordered by the government of Guyana.

The 1,700-tonne, 70-metre-long vessel will have capacity for 276 passengers, 14 cars, two lorries, 10 containers, and four reefer containers. Two Caterpillar main engines will propel the ferry to a maximum speed of 15 knots.
