Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) has floated out a new ferry for Algerian state-owned company Entreprise Nationale de Transport Maritime de Voyageurs (ENTMV), which operates under the name Algérie Ferries.

Designed by Denmark's OSK-ShipTech, the future Badji Mokhtar III will have a length of 199.99 metres, a beam of 30 metres, a design draught of 6.7 metres, a speed of 24 knots, and capacity for up to 1,800 passengers and 600 vehicles.

The vessel was originally ordered by ENTMV in April 2018.
