Ems ferry arrives in Netherlands for LNG retrofit
Published on

A Ro-Pax ferry owned by German operator Ems recently arrived at the facilities of Dutch shipyard Royal Niestern Sander to begin undergoing conversion work that will allow the installation of LNG dual-fuel engines.

The conversion on Münsterland will include replacing the existing stern with an entirely new one that can accommodate the engines, an LNG fuel tank, pipes, and other essential systems.

Münsterland is expected to return to service with the new dual-fuel engines in June of this year.
