Deltamarin has been awarded a contract by Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) to design a new LNG-powered shuttle ferry for Estonia's Tallink.
The contract covers basic and detail design services for the ferry, which is set to operate between Helsinki and Tallinn.
The value of the contract with RMC is about €7.5 million (US$8.3 million). The work will be carried out over a period of about 16 to 18 months at Deltamarin's offices in Finland and Poland.
Once completed, the ferry will have capacity for 2,800 passengers and 1,900 lane metres for vehicles. It will run on dual fuel with the main source of fuel being LNG.
Delivery is expected in early 2022.
