A consortium formed by Danish naval architects Hauschildt Marine and Norwegian design firm Multi Maritime has been selected to develop a new ferry to serve the island municipality of Laeso in Denmark's Jutland Peninsula in the North Sea.

The vessel that will be developed by the Dansk-Norsk Faerge (DANOF) consortium will be used to transport regular commuters, tourists, and freight between Laeso and Frederikshavn.

The new ferry is scheduled to enter service in 2024. It will replace a vessel that has been operating in the area for 25 years.
