Brittany Ferries to add two hybrid vessels to UK-France routes
Published on

Brittany Ferries is set to add two new hybrid LNG-electric Ro-Pax vessels to serve its UK-France routes beginning in 2024.

The vessels will operate between Portsmouth and the French ports of St Malo and Caen. They will operate on LNG when in the open sea while battery power will be used when arriving at and departing ports.

The ferries will be chartered from Stena RoRo under a ten-year agreement that also includes purchase options after the fourth year.

The new vessels will feature greater garage space to ensure greater freight capacity. The garages will also feature in-voyage charging facilities for use by passenger-owned electric vehicles.
