Brittany Ferries' new LNG-powered cruise ferry Honfleur has taken to the water for the first time at a traditional ship launching ceremony at the shipyard of Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) in Germany.

Honfleur will be the first ship on the English Channel to be powered by LNG when it enters service.

The vessel will carry up to 1,800 passengers and will offer 261 cabins, two cinemas, restaurants, boutique stores, and spacious passenger lounges.

Delivery is scheduled for the summer of 2019 with the vessel plying the Portsmouth-Caen/Ouistreham route.
