Canadian operator BC Ferries is slated to build five new Ro-Pax vessels to replace four older ships in its fleet, the company said in a statement.
The new ferries will ply the Metro Vancouver-Vancouver Island routes currently served by Queen of Alberni (pictured), Queen of New Westminster, Queen of Coquitlam, and Queen of Cowichan, which are to be retired from the fleet.
The new vessels are expected to enter service in the mid-2020s.
