Damen Yichang Shipyard in China has floated out Berlin-Ramelau, a new Ro-Pax ferry being built for the Port Authority of Timor-Leste (Administrasaun Portuariu Timor Leste; APORTIL).

The steel-hulled vessel will be operated between Timor-Leste's capital Dili, the Oecusse enclave, and the island of Ataúro, carrying up to 308 passengers plus vehicles and cargo.

The ferry will be transported to Shanghai in June for sea trials. Delivery to APORTIL is scheduled for July.

When completed, Berlin-Ramelau will measure 67 by 16 metres and will be powered by two Yanmar 837kW engines that will deliver a maximum speed of 10 knots.
