Moran Iron Works (MIW) has signed a contract with Pictured Rocks Kayaking (PRK) to build a specialised passenger tour vessel.

The DLBA-designed, 19- by 5.7-metre vessel will be constructed out of aluminium at MIW's headquarters in Onaway, Michigan. It will be powered by twin Cummins QSK19 597kW engines.

The purpose of this particular unnamed vessel is to escort 72 passengers and 36 kayaks around Michigan's Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore for guided kayak tours.

Launch and delivery are scheduled for late 2019.
