Chinese-built electric tour boat sails on maiden voyage

A new electric-powered sightseeing boat built in China departed on its maiden voyage on the Pearl River in the city of Guangzhou on Tuesday, March 30.

Named Jinlong Yu ("Arowana"), the vessel has seating for up to 280 passengers and facilities including dining areas and conference rooms. A lithium-ion battery pack ensures low noise and vibrations.

The vessel was built by Jianglong Shipbuilding of Guangdong.
