The Philippine government, through the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), launched a new ferry service between Manila and Cavite City on Sunday, December 8.

The service, which consists of two routes, will provide an alternate mode of transport between the country's capital and the sixth largest city in nearby Cavite province.

The routes will initially be served by local operators Shogun Ships and Seaborne Ferries.
