Ocean Queen Rockstar has been delivered to NYC Ferry operated by Hornblower, following final installations at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Built by Metal Shark Boats, the 29-metre, 350-passenger vessel will be used for the NYC Ferry's New York City-Rockaway run, which involves rougher water than the Hudson River and East River routes.
Powered by a pair of Baudouin 12M26.3 P2 main engines rated at 1,000kW each, the vessel operates at a speed of 24 and is capable of a top speed in excess of 30 knots.
The Incat Crowther-designed vessel was ordered in response to unexpected ridership demand the NYC Ferry experienced during its inaugural year.
