French shipbuilder Bord a Bord has delivered a new shuttle ferry that runs entirely on electrical power.

Designed by local company Naviwatt, the 7.6- by 2.6-metre aluminium vessel will be operated on the Sarthe River between the communes of Ecouflant and Cantenay in western France.

The ferry also has space for six bicycles in addition to 12 passengers. Its propulsion arrangement consists of two Torqeedo electric outboards and a 15kWh battery.
