The name of a new Norwegian-flagged zero-emission fast ferry has finally been selected as the development team gears up for the start of construction.
The new vessel will be named Medstraum after the Norwegian phrase "med straum," which translates into English as "with electricity." It will be designed and built entirely in Norway under the EU-funded TrAM Project.
Intended to serve as a demonstrator vessel, Medstraum will operate a multi-stop commuter route into Stavanger for public transport company Kolumbus beginning in 2022.
