Cyprus-registered energy commodities trader Gunvor Group has made an investment in Northern Ireland-based Artemis Technologies with the aim of developing zero-emission passenger vessels.
Gunvor's investment will aid Artemis' development of a transformative electric hydrofoiling propulsion system.
The vessels that will be developed under the Artemis-led, 13-member Belfast Consortium project are expected to operate with up to 90 per cent less energy than traditional ferries, with the capability of carrying up to 350 passengers and producing zero emissions during operation.
