Swedish public transport provider Transdev Sverige has unveiled plans to introduce an all-electric ferry service in the city of Gothenburg.
Älvsnabben 4 (pictured), a 1994-built ferry operated by Transdev subsidiary Styrsöbolaget, will sail on the new service's inaugural voyage after it has completed undergoing conversion work that will allow it to accommodate an all-electric drive.
The refit of Älvsnabben 4 will commence in the first quarter of 2020 in time for a scheduled entry into commercial service by the end of that year.
