German operator Schlepp- und Fährgesellschaft Kiel (SFK) has placed an order for three additional hybrid ferries from Holland Shipyards Group.

The newbuildings will be near identical sisters of Gaarden, which Holland Shipyards Group delivered to SFK in July 2020. Each vessel will measure 32.4 by 8.8 metres and will be provided with a hybrid drivetrain that can be powered by either generators or by means of a battery bank.

The first two ferries will be delivered in February and May 2022, respectively, and the last one will be handed over in the beginning of 2026.
