A passenger vessel traveling from Larkspur to San Francisco in California crashed into a ferry terminal dock in the latter city on the afternoon of Friday, November 23.

The ferry San Francisco was attempting to berth shortly after 14:00 when its bow struck the dock at the famed San Francisco Ferry Building terminal. Both the ferry and the dock have sustained damage.

No significant injuries have been reported among the ferry's 53 passengers or those at the dock though two of the passengers have complained of some back pain and a bruised hip.

A spokeswoman for the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District, which operates the vessel, has stated that the crew encountered "some mechanical difficulty" just prior to the crash.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
